We are a small business keeping bees in the South Hams area of Devon.  Our hives are currently located in the Avon Valley near Loddiswell and the Combe Valley near Salcombe on the very southern tip of Devon.

As far as practical we manage our bees in accordance with the recommendations of the Soil Association.  Unfortunately, we cannot call our honey organic as this requires all the land around our hives out to a radius of 4 miles to be certified organic – a total of over 50 square miles, which is virtually impossible to achieve in the UK.  However, in all other respects, we follow the Soil Association recommendations, for example in the treatment of varroa and avoiding processed sugar for winter feeding.
